Dan Graham Suitcase Model

In an expansion of reality, the suitcase acts as a magical machine where three perspectives collapse into one as the plan, section and perspective are shown simultaneously. Gardens are understood to be contained realities where the rules of “nature” may be abstracted to fit a particular boundary. These representation devices allow us to abstract these notions and play with them.

This hedge study further explores what it means to be a traveling architect through the portability of both exploration and model. Dan Graham is one of the many artists VOGT has collaborated with over the years.
