Study Alpine Snowmaking Reservoirs

Climate change is altering the conditions for tourist regions in the Alps. Numerous storage facilities for the production of snow have been built or are planned in recent years. These artificial mini-lakes represent interventions in the sensitive structure of the Alpine landscape. A research project, funded by Toggenburg Bergbahnen and carried out by Günther Vogt's Chair and Case Studio Vogt, is developing scenarios for the future storage landscape of the Alps with a focus on Switzerland, based on an assessment and analysis of existing snowmaking reservoirs.
