Travelling Architect

The idea of a traveling architect is central to Vogt’s practice: the subjective relationship between designer and landscape. Wanderlust describes the human concept of nature, the particular poetry of landscape where the sublime and the body relate to the land through movement.

Vogt developed a backpack to support the journey and exploration of the travelling architect- a collection that orchestrates movement through information, sketchbooks, maps, writing materials, camera, measuring tools, compass, and pockets for storing flowers, soil, and stones.

These investigations are part of an on-going research into the backpack as a extension of the body- a prosthesis and different forms of knowledge making through the body.
